CTC Rijeka, Croatian partner in the #HackAD project, has launched Social Hackademy Lab on the 15 March 2021. More than 30 young people from disadvantaged backgrounds started their HackAD journey with the training course Visual and Graphic Design. In April and May, the learning will continue with Web Design and Native mobile app development training courses.

CTC Rijeka gathered Croatian Civil Society Organisations that need digital solutions that are linked to one or more of the 17 UN Goals for Sustainable Development. This collaboration is pivotal for Social Hackademy methodology. The CSOs ensure the links to the real challenges and issues that will be addressed during the social hackathons.

The learning process in the training courses is also enriched by the collaboration with CSOs because they are providing tasks for young people according to their needs – visual and graphic content, website or native mobile apps. Young learners therefore contribute to the real activities which strengthens their motivation for learning.

All training course participants willl get the opportunity to be a part of the Social Hackathon that will happen in Rijeka in June 2021.
